Charlie Lyons asked the question most of us would ask.
What’s the catch?
The free seat
Charlie had spent a few weeks in the free Skool group for Lead Gen Jay’s community.
The paid members, called the Insiders, had an open call every Friday. Andrew led it.
Charlie wasn’t an Insider. But the call was open.
So he decided to jump on and see what was being taught.
People brought their problems, one after another. An offer that wasn’t structured right. A funnel that wasn’t working. Copy. Productivity tools. AI.
Andrew took them all.
In Charlie’s words:
"He helped numerous people with offer structure, funnel matters, copywriting, productivity tools, AI, and so on, and I observed him helping members with all of it."
That’s when the question formed.
Any challenge. Expert help. Free.
"I wondered what the catch was because I wasn’t yet a member of Insiders."
You’ve probably felt that suspicion yourself. When something looks too generous, you start looking for the fine print.
Charlie had every reason to look.
The second look
He didn’t join after the first call.
He came back for another.
After that second call, he was invited to join the Insiders.
He said yes.
"Watching @Andrew Naegele deliver so much value to the members made my decision a no-brainer."
Look at what did the selling.
Not a sales page.
Andrew working on other people’s problems, in the open, where someone who hadn’t paid a dollar could watch.
One week in
A week after joining, Charlie wrote a post for the community.
He’d been working through the course material and coming to the live calls.

"I’ve been making my way through some of the course material and attending live calls, and I am completely floored by the value."
And he was clear about why he’d joined at all.
"I would not have joined Insiders if it weren’t for seeing Andrew deliver so much value before I upgraded."
He remembered thinking:
"Wow, if this is their free support, I wonder what it’s like in the Insiders?"
Then he added one more line, almost as a note to whoever runs the place.
"If anything, I can say those Friday calls definitely drive people to join Insiders because I’m one of them."
The answer
Charlie came onto that first call looking for the hidden price.
He thought it would be somewhere in the fine print.
It turned out to be right there in the open.
Once you’ve watched someone help that many people with that many different problems, you want a seat at the table.
The catch was that he wanted more.
